Looking around the classroom, bored because I couldnt get my timer to work and had almost given up I saw Diyomera (who sits diagonal from me) fiddling with a youtube video about Scratch Programming, which is when it hit me
The answer to my timer problem could be on Youtube in a Tutorial!
I raced onto youtube and found a video called Scratch Programming Marble Racer Demo by turning358
although it may not read "Fix your timer" I considered that a race would need a timer so began to watch the video, running for 20 minutes, I almost clicked out when I found in the description box:
Description of how Scratch works followed by a demonstration of creating the marble racer program.
Components:
0:00 - 3:35 Description of components of the Scratch window
3:36 - 6:35 Painting the background green, creating track, creating the ball and finish line sprites
6:36 - 16:00 Basic up and down ball movement using arrow keys16:01- 20:20 Left & Right movement, Slow down when hitting grass, stop at finish line & display message, Timer
Next Im at the 16 minute mark on the video and waiting for it to load so I can skip to the information about how he sets the timer :D
