Computer Ports a port serves as an interface between the computer and other computers or peripheral devices, eg a USB or External Hardrive

The term "port" is derived from a Latin word "porta" (gate, entrance, door)

TYPES:

Ethernet:
An Ethernet connection can be used to connect high-speed DSL or cable Internet connections

IEEE 1394 interface:

The IEEE 1394 interface is a serial bus interface standard for high-speed communications and isochronous real-time data transfer, frequently used by personal computers, as well as in digital audio, digital video, automotive, and aeronautics applications

Parallel

A parallel port is a type of interface found on computers (personal and otherwise) for connecting various peripherals

PS/2

The PS/2 connector is a 6-pin Mini-DIN connector used for connecting some keyboards and mice to a PC compatible computer system

Serial

a serial port is a serial communication physical interface through which information transfers in or out one bit at a time

USB:

USB (Universal Serial Bus) is an industry standard developed in the mid-1990s that defines the cables, connectors and protocols used for connection, communication and power supply between computers and electronic devices.

WARNING: USB CORRUPT

My USB has...... not died, but something happened to it

It re-copied all my files into a folder marked "geography", so I deleted the files in that folder and it deleted the actual folders contents so I now have nothing on my usb, all the IST work I saved is gone. but luckily i had some saved on my hard drive

So really its not ALL gone

FACTS:

• Bluetooth technology was invented in 1994 by engineers at Ericsson, a Swedish company
• 'Bluetooth' was the code name for the SIG when it was first formed and the name stuck
• Latest Bluetooth enables gadgets let you watch images on your TV screen. This may be completed using laptop or mobile phone over a Bluetooth connection to a media viewer.

Today Julianne is away sick.
