Groups

·         Groups of Two will choose at least 8 topics with at least one from each of the above coloured groups.
I am paired with Julianne Barker for this project, we will each work on 4 topics
So far I have chosen
- Social Networking
- Netbooks
- Types of Ports
- Bluetooth

Julianne has chosen
- WiFi
- Handheld
- Piracy and Copyright
- CPU's

Research: Tools available online

We will do some research on tools that are available online, that could do a similar job to PowerPoint for our eBook
Versatility - Unable to say, I did not get past step 1 of the project
Ease of use - 2/10, the log in and register process is easy yet when I tried to upload my files to start creating the "book" I was unable to find any of my documents
Collaboration - The log in process requires your email and password, to collaborate on the project you would need to share a password and learn the others email to register

Versatility - easy, efficient and precise
Ease of use - 10/10, the options are clear, there are examples and the whole process is clear in the layout and workability of the tools
Collaboration - upon registration it does ask for an email but also a username, so my partner and I could most definantly work up a username and shared password

TERM 3 THE WORLD OF MEDIA!

TERM 3, LESSON 1, 19/07/11
2:20 pm, Period 5

Today: Mr Cavill is off on Vacation and we will be subbed for the next two weeks. we have been set a list of activities to complete before his return. We have also recieved our marks for the term 2 video project, our group, (group J-K-B) got 36/38, with many compliments on our video editing, design, choice of song, and well portrayed theme.

THE WORLD OF MEDIA - Task 1
Watch the following clips
1.      Where do you commonly use multimedia in your daily life, list as many examples as you can.
Home
School
Work
Out (eg shops, movies)
2.      What multimedia device or service would you find it hardest to be without? Discuss.
My Ipod Touch, I can access everything on my ipod to keep me entertained, books, websites, social networking (which means talking to friends), games, music, puzzles, absolutelly everything, without my ipod I think I would be lost, sure I have games for the computer or for the playstation, sure i would rather read a real book rather than a screen and yes I can communicate with my friends on the phone and via text, but i've grown up in a world where children/teens/young adults have grown accustom to multi-tasking, which I admit I am, I sit on the lounge, watch tv and read my book, or play a game or talk to someone at the same time, in today's society doing more things at once and keeping your brain "going" (i guess) is just a habit, and it why I couldnt live without my ipod touch.
3.      The video on future directions (third video) has already to some extent come true. What multimedia technologies displayed in this video are already commonly used?
Video is unavailable at this time and will not completelly load, I will revisit this question when the video loads
4.      Do you see any advantages/disadvantages to the use of such multimedia technology?
